Boston Home Magazine Fall issue

I had the pleasure of photographing John Matouk & Co in Fall River, MA for Boston Home magazine a few weeks back. Matouk is a family run business dating back to the 1920's. It was a rare occation in that most of the time as a photographer I feel like I show up somewhere and try to find a place that looks good to take a photo.This place was full of interesting people, and filled with equipment from automated embroidery machines to 100 year old Singer sewing machines, it was visual overload really.  Zach helped me out a lot on the shoot and we had a great time. Plover Time

I recently got a call to shoot a story for Boston Globe Magazine and for 3rd assignment in a row they sent me to the beach?!? Not sure how I ended up being the guy for that but I'm not complaining. The art director joked with me that no other art director will ever be this good to me. After going up to Revere Beach a couple times looking for how to illustrate what they were looking for, he encouraged me to shoot close ups of the birds in case they needed it. I had already shot portraits of people, and all sorts of other things and when he chose images he selected mainly bird photos. I was a little confused how it would read in the spread but was pleasantly surprised how cool it worked. Thanks Josue.

Things have been busy here. I wanted to share some of the cool projects I have been lucky to work on the past couple weeks.

Various Summer Fun

It's been a really busy July! Work has been BUSY and I have also managed a little traveling too. It's nice when those things mix together too. I got to shoot a beautiful house on Martha's Vinyard last week. The couple who hired me were nice enough to let me bring my family along for a couple nights so they could enjoy the island while I worked. It was an amazing house and we had a great time. The owner did all the clay tiles you see!

Boston Globe Magazine Tear Sheet Star-Struck

Here is a recent tear sheet from this Sunday's Boston Globe Magazine. One of those assignments that came in last minute that I was really excited to do and then thought about it on the way up realised what a challenge it would be. I ended up hiding some strobes to make silhouettes. They were good sports and showed me some cool things in the sky. Thanks to the GAAC.
