Alt Energy at Mt. Washington

I went to NH last weekend to shoot for myself. I have this ritual where at the beginning of summer I type into my calendar all of the places I want to go shoot personal work.  RC airplanes festival, quad races, demo derby, county fair, drag races in NH, etc etc. I know I will never get to them all, but if I ever find myself with nothing planned, I can go do it. This year, I hardly made a single one. Last weekend I looked on the calendar and the ALT Energy Summit at Mt. Washington was there. It was a pretty small event only in it's second year, but I decided to go. I was testing a really hooptie rig I made to hold a q-flash on my back while I walked around. It's made from a backpack frame from an infant hiking pack with an arm and knuckle attached with a super clamp. It worked pretty well. Here are a couple from the day.

New Stuff in Print

Here are a couple recent tears. The first was for a New Hampshire based start-up called Regaalo for Entrepreneur Magazine. A fun duo upgrading the idea of the care package. It was a zillion degrees that day. Thanks to Jessica and Matt for making it fun. The second is for Technology Review. Researchers in Princeton NJ were using a 3D printer to print live cells into the shape of an ear. A little electronics added and we are closer to a living Cyborg. Read full article here.

I will be posting a bunch of photos from a recent shoot for Otto Pizza in Portland Maine soon. Here is a just a slice.
Oh Yah. My little girl is off to first grade. Proud Dad.

Bronwyn opens in Union Square this week. I worked with Chef Tim Wiechmann on some photos of the place. I can see many pints of German beer and Giant pretzels in my future.
My analytics says I'm not doing well in North Dakota (or Alaska).

My parents in Hawaii in the Mid 70's. Awesome.

A Robot, Jerod Mayo and Spring.

Here's a tear from the most recent issue of Technology Review. I love working for Tech Review. They always send me to the craziest places to see people doing amazing things right in our backyard. This is a company called Rethink Robotics that is making Baxter, an affordable, easily "teachable" robot to work along side humans safely and easily. Read the article here.

I photographed Jerod Mayo for an upcoming campaign for the good people at  Worldways Social Marketing. He was a great guy and game for all the ideas we had. I can't wait to see the finished product and I'll post it here as soon as it's out.

We took a quick visit to Brooklyn to hang out with friends and enjoy some spring. We met friend Su Jung and her beautiful dog Meta for a walk in Prospect Park.

My little nature collector.
